my view of multimedia journalism

multimedia journalism is important these days. Technology is moving everyday and if we dont jog along beside its sweaty, sprinting self we will lose it in the crowd and then we will be lost.

there is no longer television/radio news and print. WE have to accept that the new generation (trying not to sound like an old fart here, i am still only 19) are so adapted to this new culture of internet, mobile phones, and digital cameras that, as journalists, we have to accept that in a few years we will probably be relying on people to visit our websites instead of buying newspapers.

but dont get scared fellow journalists, we may have to change the medium we write for, but we still need to write articles that keep our public informed of the news. but with this technology, multimedia journalists have an easier way to interact with the public through blogs and comments.

news has become more exciting. people want to watch a video on the web instead of waiting to watch the news on television. and we all have to more clued up with headlines. forget the snappy alliteration- we need a good clean headline that will show up in internet search engines.

we all have to face the facts that soon we will be using old computers to keep our fish and chips warm.
